On complication

Over these past few months of researching there are times when i've paused to question whether some of what i'm doing or reading is too complicated or "unnecessarily complicated." little did i know (or like to accept) that this is what it IS supposed to be: long, extensive process who entails lots of overlaps, twists, and turns, etc.

but to be able to move is another story; it has to be more systematic. i now need to set myself and my research clear parameters of what this piece of work aims to answer. after all, dissertation is not a long essay. this is the moment when i realize that now i'm dealing with a different kind of writing and knowledge-building.
